Hello parents and guardians of fifth-grade students,
Even though all the typical end-of-the-year events for our Fountain Green Elementary fifth-graders have been canceled, we still want to do something special for them and send them to middle school in style.
We know this is last minute, but we have scheduled a car parade for the students beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18 in the Fountain Glen community. It is open to any fifth-grade family that wants to participate and is not a school-sanctioned event.
Students will ride in the cars with other parents, family, friends and neighbors lining the street. We ask that everyone along the street remain 6 feet apart. Bring signs, bring noisemakers anything else to celebrate.
The parade will be short – beginning at Brunswick Drive and continuing along Fountain Glen Drive and ending at the creek at the bottom of Fountain Glen, where there will be a “Congratulations FGES 5thgraders” sign you can use to take pictures of your children.
Before joining the parade lineup, families are asked to drop off members who will be lining the street to keep the street from getting too crowded. Please do not park in front of the sign area during the parade.
The sign will be up all day Thursday in the common area by Jaime Navarrete’s house, 1406 Fountain Glen Drive, for easier access for pictures not during the parade.
The parade will be followed by a gathering at Rockfield Park. Kids can bring their yearbooks to get signed by classmates. Bring your own picnic and blankets. We’re hoping to have Kona Ice.
