2021-2022 Patriot Program
First Grade Requirements
Welcome to the 2021-2022 Patriot Program Year! This year, projects will be placed in a bin located in each pod and any testing for
memorization will be done in person or virtually. You can submit projects any time before the due date.
● In order to achieve the title of a First Grade Eagle, you must complete 3 of the 5 activities listed below. The Good Deed option is mandatory. You may choose the other two.
● All projects are due by April 1, 2022. It is important that all projects are handed in on or before this due date.
● Traditionally, fifth grade Patriots who have completed the Patriot Program in grades 3, 4, and 5 earn a trip to Philadelphia. Fifth grade Patriots who have completed the program every year since kindergarten will be celebrated as six-year Patriots.
Patriot Program Activities: First Grade Eagle
1. Do a Good Deed OR Complete an Act of Kindness (REQUIRED).
(FILL OUT ATTACHED FORM) Some examples may include donating time or goods to a charity and helping a neighbor. To submit this assignment, fill out the attached form and place in the bin in the pod.
2. (History) Draw a picture or paste a picture of the First President.
On a separate piece of paper, draw a picture or paste a picture of the first President of the United States. Underneath the picture, write his name and three facts about him.
3. (Government) Identify the Vice President of the United States.
On a separate piece of paper, write the following sentences and complete the blanks with correct answers.
The Vice President of the United States is __________________________________. Two of her responsibilities as Vice President are __________________ and ___________________.
4. (Geography) Identify the state and county in which you live on a map.
With a Patriot Program committee member, identify your state on a map of the United States and your county on a map of the state. This will be a tested assignment.
5. (Symbolism) Write about a beloved national symbol. On a separate sheet of paper, identify the national bird of the United States and write three facts about it in complete sentences. Draw or paste a picture.
