2021-2022 Patriot Program
Fourth Grade Requirements
Welcome to the 2021-2022 Patriot Program Year! This year, projects will be placed in a bin located in each pod and any testing for memorization will be done in person or virtually. You can submit projects any time before the due date.
● In order to achieve the title of Fourth Grade Revolutionary, you must complete 4 of the 5 activities listed below. The Good Deed option is mandatory. You may choose the other three.
● All projects are due by April 1, 2022. It is important that all projects are handed in on or before this due date.
● Traditionally, fifth grade Patriots who have completed the Patriot Program in grades 3, 4, and 5 earn a trip to Philadelphia. Fifth grade Patriots who have completed the program every year since kindergarten will be celebrated as six-year Patriots.
Patriot Program Activities: Fourth Grade Revolutionaries
1. Do a Good Deed OR Complete an Act of Kindness (REQUIRED).
(FILL OUT ATTACHED FORM) Some examples may include donating time or goods to a charity and helping a neighbor. To submit this assignment, fill out the attached form and place in the bin in the pod.
2. (History) The Star-Spangled Banner.
Neatly write the lyrics of the first verse of the Star-Spangled Banner. Afterward, write a paragraph about the history of the Star-Spangled Banner.
3. (Government) Identify Maryland’s Senators.
With a Patriot Program committee member, be able to identify Maryland’s two senators and be able to describe a senator’s responsibilities. This will be a tested assignment.
4. (Geography) Memorize ten state capitals. With a Patriot Program committee member, identify ten state capitals of your choice. This will be a tested assignment.
5. (Symbolism) Color the attached Maryland flag. Color the attached Maryland flag and write three sentences about its symbolism
