What is a Spirit Rock?
A Spirit Rock is an opportunity to share exciting events with our school community by painting your own message. You can reserve the rock for anything!! A student’s birthday, thanking a teacher or staff member, congratulatory events, good luck on competitions and tournaments, recognizing milestones, etc. The rock is a fun way to spread any kind of positive message.
Please note that profanity, political messages, and business advertisements are not permitted. All messages MUST be school appropriate and respectful.
How does this work?
You will receive an email from us confirming the date you've selected. You may begin painting at 5 pm on the day prior to your reservation. So, if your event is September 10th, rent the rock for September 10th and you can begin painting on September 9th at 5 pm. Please respect the family before you and do not paint earlier than 5 pm. If more than one person reserves the rock for the same date, we will email you to let you know who signed up first.
In the event of inclement weather, the rock can be towel dried and the paint will adhere even in the rain and or snow if you want to brave the elements. If painting in the rain or snow is not your thing, reach out to us and we can change your reservation date.
How to paint
Exterior acrylic paint is recommended. Drop cloths or garbage bags must be used to protect the ground and surrounding area. You can bring painters tape, templates, or brushes to aid in the design as well. ONLY the Rock may be painted. DO NOT paint the trees or the grass or any other material surrounding the rock. Anyone painting the rock must leave the area in clean condition. Remove all paint materials and litter from the site and be sure the paint is disposed of properly off campus.
The individual or group painting the Spirit Rock assumes liability for any injuries, clothing damage, or personal property damage that occur. The individual or group reserving the Spirit Rock will be held financially responsible for any cleaning or repair costs resulting from rule violations.
